Gene J. Williams Award

The Society of North Carolina Archivists annually recognizes a paper on an archives-centric topic written for a graduate-level course by a student residing in or attending a North Carolina school. The award honors the late Gene J. Williams, archivist at the North Carolina Division of Archives and History and at East Carolina University, and charter member of the Society of North Carolina Archivists.

The award recipient is selected in November and their entry is published in SNCA's peer-reviewed Journal of the Society of North Carolina Archivists. The recipient also receives $250, free attendance to the following year's annual conference, and a one-year SNCA membership. Submissions should include the Williams Award application form and the paper, preferably in a Word file.

For more information, email the SNCA Education Chair with "Williams Award" in the subject line.

Applications for this award must be received by Friday, January 7, 2022.
