Lazar "Larry" Odzak has been an archivist with the NC State
Archives for the past five years. After completing his graduate work
in US History at the University of Florida, Larry and his wife Hope
moved to the Triangle. Here he obtained an MLIS at NCCU, including
a number of archives related courses at NC State.
Larry's current primary duties are to help patrons
select and research archival collections in the Archives Search Room,
both material preserved in the original form and microfilmed.
Larry's reading invariably turns to history, laced
with selections of the Department of Cultural Resources book club,
which selects many works by North Carolina authors. His main interest
is 19th and 20th century US History, specifically the field of Immigration
and Ethnicity. Larry's book on Greek immigrants to the southern US
in the early 1900s will be published this summer.
