Paula
Brown is the Collection Development Librarian for Gaston-Lincoln Regional
Library. Her interest in archives stems from her interest/love of
collecting and history. Paula has a B.A. (double degree) in Communications
and History. She received her M.L.I.S. from the University of North
Carolina at Greensboro.
Paula is the "problem solver" for cataloging

for Collection Development in fiction and paperback fiction. She has
worked on special selection projects for the Children's, Young Adult,
and Audio Visual collections. "It's fun to see a new book - select
it for ordering - see it come through processing and know it's there
because of your work."
She keeps in touch with archival work through NCLA history
projects and attending SNCA meetings.
Hobbies include reading (mostly SciFi and paranormal
fiction and YA), gardening, volunteering at the Daniel Stowe Botanical
Garden Gift shop (during summer), beading jewelry, attending the Spiritual
Growth Book club, collecting stuff and information, and finding new
music to explore [Pandora.com].
