DIRECTIONS AND PARKING

Directions and Parking for the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts:
The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts is a brick building located at 423 West King Street, between Appalachian and College Streets. It is adjacent to the Appalachian State University campus and is a short walk from Belk Library and Information Commons. Parking is available in the College Street parking deck next to the Library or in the surface lots immediately behind the Turchin Center.

To reach the Turchin Center and surface lots by car, follow the directions to Belk Library and Information Commons below. There is an unmarked street between College and Appalachian Streets which allows access the surface parking lots. If you miss this, you can enter the College Street parking deck from College Street or you can reach the surface lots by turning on Appalachian Street, and then turning left on Howard Street at Raley Hall, heading towards the Library. The surface lots will be in front of you and to your left. Enter the Turchin Center at the main entrance in the breezeway by ascending the steps at the back of the building. Follow the signs to the main door. For entrance by elevator, please enter under the "Turchin Center Lecture Hall" sign near the surface lots at the back of the building.

Directions and Parking for Belk Library & Information Commons, Appalachian State University:
Carol Grotnes Belk Library & Information Commons is located at 218 College Street. It is one of the tallest buildings on the central campus and is visually identifiable by its green cupola. The parking deck is located immediately to the north of the Library, also on College Street. SNCA workshop and meeting attendees should enter the Library by the entrance that faces the parking deck, next to the courtyard between the deck and the Library. Although there will be construction in this area for a new College of Education building, it should not prevent entrance to the Library or the parking deck.

Driving Directions:
Approaching Boone from the East (Winston-Salem, Greensboro): Take US-421 North, continue into downtown Boone (US-421 is King Street) and make a left at the traffic light onto College Street. The library will be straight ahead and the parking deck will be on your right.

Approaching Boone from the South (Hickory, Charlotte): Take US-321 North through Blowing Rock and into Boone. Take a left on US-421 North (King St.). Proceed about 1/4 mile and make a left at the traffic light onto College Street. The library will be straight ahead and the parking deck will be on your right. [If you take I-77 North from Charlotte you will exit I-77 onto US-421 North and then approach Boone from the East - see above directions].

Approaching Boone from the West (Johnson City, TN): Take US-421 South into downtown Boone. Take a right at the traffic light onto College Street. The library will be straight ahead and the parking deck will be on your right. Campus maps and additional directions are available here.
