Speakers, Schedule & Conference Information

We are very excited about the SNCA 2015 Annual Conference in Greenville, NC this week!

Speakers

We are delighted to have Wesley Hogan, director of the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University, as the opening plenary speaker on Thursday morning. Her talk is titled “Framing Stories from the Inside-Out: Piloting a Fresh Approach to Collaborating with Groups on the Margin.”

Friday morning's keynote speaker, Bryan Giemza, is director of the Southern Historical Collection at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Titled "Looking Good, On and Off Paper: Generosity, The Southern Historical Collection, and Our Moment" we are looking forward to hearing about "how the SHC is responding to a changing research landscape and articulating an emerging model for community-driven and -curated projects."

Workshop and Tour Information

Workshop and optional ECU Joyner Library tour participants will need a hangtag for their cars to park in the M lots behind Joyner Library and the Mendenhall Student Center (see map below). For those attending the Wednesday workshop and/or tours, 15 minutes prior to your event someone will be standing at the Joyner Library’s book drop at the top of Wendell Smiley Way to hand out the hangtags. You’ll then proceed a little further along that same road to the parking lot.

If you have any delays on Wednesday, we’ll continue to give out parking hangtags at the welcome table in Joyner Library after the workshop and/or tour begins.

If you are staying at the Holiday Inn Express and would prefer a different option, there is a complimentary shuttle to the ECU campus available.

Those attending the Friday afternoon tours can pick up their parking passes at the registration desk during the SNCA conference.
